Stefano Donadio, PhD

FOUNDER and PRESIDENT

 

Stefano's education includes a degree from University of Naples and post-doctoral work at Johns Hopkins University, the International Institute of Genetics and Biophysics and the University of Wisconsin. In 1988, Stefano moved to the pharmaceutical industry, first at Abbott Labs in Chicago and then at Lepetit in Italy. A co-founder of Biosearch Italia, he was member of the Board of Directors and Vice President of Microbial Technologies, following the company through a successful IPO (220 M€) and its subsequent merger with Versicor into Vicuron Pharmaceuticals. During his stay at Biosearch/Vicuron, Stefano made important contributions to the Dalbavancin production process and to the discovery of novel antibiotics. An active member of the scientific community, he has been adjunct professor at several Italian universities and has published over 80 papers and patents dealing with antibiotics and antibiotic-producing microbes.
